Here’s what we have planned for an excellent long weekend getaway:

MILE HIGH YOGA- Saturday 9/1:

Start your weekend off on the right foot! Enjoy pristine views while you relax & unwind with Mile High Yoga at the 5506' Skybar at 10:30am. Cost is $15.00 per person. A shuttle ride is required to access 5506' and costs $1 for a single round-trip ticket. Contact the Beech Mountain Resort for more information 800-438-2093.


MILE HIGH KITE & CRAFT FESTIVAL- Saturday & Sunday, 9/1-9/2:

Join us for the annual Mile High Kite & Craft Festival on Saturday, Sept. 1st & Sunday, Sept. 2nd from 10:00 am 4:00 pm each day. The first 150 attendees ages 10 & under will receive a FREE decorate-it-yourself kite, both Saturday & Sunday! There will be a kite decorating station available for children & parents. In addition to kite decorating, kite flying & ticketed kiddie amusement rides, we will have food & craft vendors offering homemade items for sale, as well as our resident face painter. 

This event is FREE to attend with preferred parking available for a $5.00 cash donation. All donations will be collected by the Chamber of Commerce & will be used to provide & improve future Beech Mountain community events.

Following Saturday's event we will host a Street Dance in the Kite Field from 4:00-6:00 pm with Beech Mountain's very own, DJ Frank Steele. Starting at 1:00 pm on Sunday the Richmond Air Force & WACKOS kite clubs will emcee our Kite Flying Contest with prizes awarded in several categories including Highest Flying, Lowest Flying, Best Decorated Kite & more! They'll also ask for audience participation for the raising of the American flag & National Anthem as a tribute to all those who have served.



Enjoy a cool down to your weekend on the lawn at the Alpen Restaurant & Bar. The very last performance of the season comes from “Swing Set Big Band”! The show goes on rain or shine. Special lawn menu will be served. Leashed pets are welcome, and guests may bring their own chair or enjoy seating provided by the Alpen.
